? min. reading time | ? wordsFootball stadiums in the Bundesliga are on average 90% full, making this league one of the most visited leagues in the world. Most stadiums have already played host to major matches from the Champions League, Europa League and the European Championship. The seats are covered in all stadiums.
All football arenas have goal-line technology and VAR systems. Nevertheless, the German Football Association wants to invest more than €300 million towards the final tournament. New stadiums do not have to be built, because all buildings meet the requirements of UEFA.
10 stadiums for Euro 2024
The 10 stadiums during the European Championship 2024 in Germany are: []
- Olympiastadion Berlin (Berlin)
- Cologne Stadium (Cologne)
- BVB Stadium Dortmund (Dortmund)
- Dusseldorf Arena (Dusseldorf)
- Frankfurt Arena (Frankfurt)
- Arena AufSchalke (Gelsenkirchen)
- Volksparkstadion Hamburg (Hamburg)
- Leipzig Stadion (Leipzig)
- Munich Football Arena (Munich)
- Stuttgart Arena (Stuttgart)
The names of many stadiums contain a sponsor of the home club, with which UEFA has no contract. The current names may therefore not be used during the European main tournament.
The football stadiums are in the host cities where the heart of the tournament beats. The locations have not only been selected because of the optimal conditions on the field, but also because of the conditions around the field. Off the field, VIPs, sponsors and football fans celebrate the game and gather to watch matches.
Not all football stadiums can be empty within 8 minutes in an emergency, but they can be full within an hour.
9 of the 10 proposed stadiums also hosted the 2006 World Cup matches. The Düsseldorf Arena has now been added. The Fussbal Arena in Munich also played during the European Championship in 2020.
