The Euro 2024 squads may consist of a maximum of 26 players. Before the match, each team must provide a list with the entire squad consisting of 11 starting players, 12 substitutes and 11 staff members.
A maximum of 12 substitutes and 11 assistants may therefore sit on the bench. Suspended players are of course not allowed to sit on the bench and doping is strictly prohibited and all players from the squad can be tested after the match.
The entire squads must arrive at the stadium no later than 1.5 hours before kick-off. At least one team doctor must be present at all times. The warm-up may last 30 minutes and will take place 50 minutes to 20 minutes before kick-off.
During the match, the referee may take a drink break. One additional substitution may be used in case of extra time, regardless of whether a team has already made the maximum number of substitutions.

Footballers / players at the 2024 European Championship
Each country must initially provide a provisional list with a maximum of 55 players for the European Championship 2024. These football players have the nationality of the country they represent.
The list will include information on full names, names on shirt, date and place of birth, passport number, height, weight, number of international matches played and goals scored.
No more than 26 people are allowed on the bench during the game. This is a maximum of 15 substitutes and 11 assistants (including 1 team doctor).
Final list of 26 players for the European Championship
Each country must then send UEFA a final list with a minimum of 23 and a maximum of 26 players, of which at least 3 must be goalkeepers. The players on this final list must also appear on the provisional list. The list also contains a maximum of 27 staff members.
A football player on the final list may only be replaced in case of injury or illness up to a day before the first group match.
A player may only participate in the European Football Championship if he can identify himself by means of a passport.
Availability for the national team
Football players are allowed to play their last match for their own club at the latest one month before the start of the tournament. After that they must be available for the national team.
