Germany may host the 2024 European Football Championship

The Euro 2024 will be awarded to Germany, according to the president of the German Football Association. Wolfgang Niersbach is 80% sure that Germany will be the host country for the European Football Championship in 2024.

Niersbach made his statement during a sports congress in Dusseldorf. "I am optimistic because we have already prepared very well."

Turkey is also making an effort to organization of the European Football Championship in 2024. Germany, however, expects that they will easily beat Turkey in the hostage battle.

Niersbach wants to persuade Chancellor Angela Merkel to support his plan. Germany has currently mapped out a ten-year plan to take football to the next level. The organization of the European Championship 2024 will have to be the highlight of this plan.

Part of the plan is a completely new training center in Frankfurt, which will cost no less than € 90 million will cost. UEFA will announce in 2017 or 2018 who will be the host country for the European Football Championship.
