Germany and Turkey have submitted their bid dossier for the European Championship 2024

Germany and Turkey have officially submitted their bids to host the 2024 European Championship to UEFA. The deadline is Friday 27 April 2018 and no other country has applied to the European Football Association.

The German and Turkish football associations had already expressed their interest in March 2017, and have now handed over an extensive document in which all details are worked out.

The German Football Association (DFB) presented the file on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, while the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) submitted the file on Thursday, April 26, 2018, a day before the deadline. DFB President Reinhard Grindel and TFF President Yildirim Demirören personally handed over the documents in Nyon to UEFA Secretary General Theodore Theodoridis.

According to the German Grindel, his country has made an excellent offer for a perfectly organized tournament, which offers a good opportunity for UEFA to further develop football in Europe. By holding the Euro 2024 in the middle of Europe, all participants will be supported by many supporters. Germany wants to bring people and countries together by making the values of football and civilized society visible.

Demirören said that Turkey has now submitted the best offer ever to UEFA. The country has shown interest in organizing the European Football Championship three times before, but has never been allowed to organize the tournament. The parties and governments have given all guarantees, without reservation, ensuring the financial success of Euro 2024.

Germany was represented by Friedrich Curtius, Philipp Lahm and Celia Sasic. Turkey sent Servet Yardimci, Ali Dürüst, Cengiz ZülfikaroÄŸlu, Alaattin Aykaç, Mustafa ÇaÄŸlar, Kadir KardaÅŸ and Barış Telli.

UEFA will start in the coming weeks evaluating the submitted dossiers. The Football Association will publish a written report with their findings at the end of September 2018. On September 27, 2018, Nyon will vote who can organize the European Championship 2024.
