European Championship qualifying match Belgium-Sweden has been postponed
Following a suspected terrorist attack in Brussels this evening, it has been decided, after consultation with the two teams and the local police, that the European Championship 2024 qualifier between Belgium and Sweden will be postponed.
Before the start of the European Championship match, a man shot dead two Swedish football fans in Brussels. He then posted a video message in which he described his act of terror. Later that evening, the terrorist was shot dead by the police.
When the match was stopped, halfway through the game, the score was equal, namely 1-1. Both teams have indicated that they agree to a draw after this dramatic event.
Belgium had already qualified for the final tournament at that time, while Sweden had already been eliminated. The equal game therefore has no sporting consequences.
