140 million euros compensation for clubs of European Championship 2024 football players
The clubs will receive 140 million euros as compensation for supplying players who participate in the 2024 European Championship. UEFA confirmed this on April 8, 2022.
Every four years, the football association reviews how they support clubs. can compensate for supplying players to the international matches. The amount is based on the income from the European Football Championship.
The total amount is 240 million euros, of which 100 million euros will go to the Nations League and the European World Cup qualification. The remainder of 140 million euros will go to clubs that released their players for EURO 2024.
For the European Championship 2020, the compensation amounted to 130 million euros, of which 697 clubs received a share. At the time, 18 Dutch clubs received a total of 5.5 million euros in compensation. Ajax was able to add 1.5 million euros, PSV 1.2 million euros, AZ Alkmaar 0.9 million euros and Feyenoord 0.7 million euros.
